Released On Own Recognizance

Get Released on Own Recognizance or “O.R.” this is when the accused or the defendant is released by the courts with the promise to return to the court as directed by the accused or defendant on their own free will.



In all essence the judge does not feel that this accused or defendant is a flight risk and will return to court as instructed without the need of adding a bail to the case.

When the judge has determined this all necessary paperwork will be given to the accused or the defendant.

In this instance a Bail Bond Company or Agent would not be necessary or needed when the accused or the defendant is released on their Own Recognizance or “O.R.”
